Ambassador Auctioneers was founded in 1999 and traded initially as Sewe Gewels Afslaers with a primary focus on providing the surrounding community with a platform to dispose of almost any commodity and to ensure the best possible return on sales. The focus soon shifted to include the diplomatic community, retailers and major insurers. Being a family-owned company influences the way we do business. Our dedicated team are results driven and brings together practical and professional skills relevant to the industry. We take great pride in our auctions which are conducted with the utmost professionalism and our system is geared towards giving both seller and buyer the best possible deal.
The trading name “Ambassador Auctioneers” was adopted to compliment the large percentage of disposals conducted on behalf of various embassies and high commissions. Insurance salvage has also become a key part of our business and huge quantities of insurance salvage are disposed of each year. Ambassador Auctioneers is one of the few traditional auctioneers still in operation who conduct auctions in the conventional manner. This is a company where every detail matters and superior client service, team dedication and commitment to work and ethics is of utmost importance.
Goods sold on auction are presented in a manner that ensures that buyers can bid with absolute confidence. A wide spectrum of goods can be found on any given auction from household/office furniture, appliances to motor vehicles - literally any conceivable moveable asset. We also believe that you are only as good as your last auction, and this ensures that we are constantly striving to improve on all aspects of our business.Our auctions are conducted in accordance with all provisions of the Consumer Protection Act and our administrative system is on par with the best in the industry.
Auctions are convened every week on Thursdays commencing at 11.00am, occasionally auctions will be convened on selected Saturdays also commencing at 11.00am. Pre-auction viewing is on the respective auction days from 09.00am. Our sales rooms are located close to the N1 highway ensuring ease of access to buyers from any direction. Buyers can elect to be included on our marketing database and will be notified of upcoming auctions via SMS and/or e-mail. Our website is updated regularly for every auction and buyer’s guides/catalogues are posted to the website as well.
